Iranian Interior Minister in Vienna again

STOP THE BOMB criticizes silence over visit of Mohammad-Najjar

The STOP THE BOMB coalition criticizes the silence of Austrian politics over the repeated visit of the Iranian Interior Minister and former Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar to Vienna. Despite the EU's designation of Mohammad-Najjar for his involvement in the Iranian nuclear and missile program, he is supposed to be participating in today's meeting of the UN-Commission for Narcotic Drugs.This February, the Iranian Interior Minister had already participated in a conference in the Vienna Hofburg.

Mohammad-Najjar is a symbol for the terror of the regime, both within and outside the country. He is directly responsible for the bloody repression against the Iranian freedom movement and has been a member of the Revolutionary Guards for decades. Mohammad-Najjar acted as Defense Minister In Ahmadinejad's first cabinet and was heavily involved in the establishment of Hezbollah in Lebanon. He is responsible for numerous terror attacks of the Iranian Regime abroad and a member of the Iranian Security Council. As director of the Iranian Weapons Production he is directly responsible for Iran's nuclear and missile program.

STOP THE BOMB spokesperson Simone Dinah Hartmann demands clear positions from Austrian politicians: "Where are the clear statements of the government and the opposition when such a butcher repeatedly comes to Vienna? It is especially absurd to involve the Iranian Regime in the fight against drug trafficking. On the one hand, in Iran the accusation of drug dealing routinely ends in the execution of the accused and often enough the allegation is used against political opponents by the regime. On the other hand, there are massive accusations against the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, that they themselves are heavily involved in drug trafficking."
