Fischer Curries Favor with Rouhani
STOP THE BOMB criticizes the Austrian president’s meeting with ‘the friendly face of terror’
STOP THE BOMB spokesperson Stefan Schaden criticizes the meeting of Austrian president Heinz Fischer with Hassan Rouhani taking place today, Monday, on the edges of the UN General Assembly in New York: "The Austrian president bestows legitimacy and reputation on the Ayatollahs’ incessantly smiling figurehead. Apparently, Fisher's goal is to facilitate new business relations between Austrian companies and the anti-semitic regime in Tehran by paying court to Rouhani. On the contrary, the right thing to do now is to continue putting the Iranian rulers under pressure by means of harsh sanctions."
Stephan Grigat, scientific director of STOP THE BOMB, points out that Rouhani only stands for a change in tactics, not in strategy. "The Iranian regime unperturbedly adheres to its nuclear program. Rouhani is the friendly face of terror. Since the beginning of his presidency, the number of executions has continued to rise. Homosexuality is still punishable by death. Israel keeps being threatened with extinction and the Holocaust is still called into question by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei."
